Teaching Kids Crochet

Grandma taught me to crochet when I was five and I have such fond memories of the experience. During the cold Minnesota winter months, she was challenged with keeping my siblings and I busy when we weren't outside sliding, building snowmen, and making snow angels. Crocheting and knitting (although that was less appealing to me) filled the hours for my eldest sister and I. I moved on to other things as I grew older, then picked up a crochet hook again after high school. But I'll always remember the many patient hours that Grandma spent with us as she taught us the chain stitch, single crochet stitch and how to unsnarl the most tangled mess of yarn. This blog is intended as a tool for those of you who are interested in teaching youngsters (or those that are young at heart) to crochet
